If you are required to take a language course during your studies, the Canadian Immigration Department will only issue you a Study permit for the duration of the course.
If you want to keep studying after this time, you must apply to extend your permit at least 30 days before it expires. Note that you don’t need to wait for this period to end. You will be able to request an extension several months in advance.
